about us

"A restaurant is a fantasy, a kind of living theater in which diners are the most important members of the cast," Mr. LeRoy said in 1976. "It is one of the few creations that appeal to all of the senses, and one with which I can create my own world."

–Warner LeRoy

Maxwell’s Plum has a storied history, originating in the heart of New York City during the swinging sixties. Created by Warner LeRoy, it became a cultural icon, blending whimsical flair with refined dining, and was famously dubbed the first singles bar. This groundbreaking venue redefined the hospitality industry, celebrating the art of gathering with an inventive and vibrant approach.

"I was so blown away by his designs that I opened my first restaurant, Montrachet, with practically no design, saying, How could I compete with that?"

–Mr. Nieporent

Today, Maxwell’s Plum has been reimagined in Wellington, Florida, carrying the legacy of its New York roots while embracing a fresh, modern spirit. Our restaurant is more than just a place to dine—it’s a destination where friends gather for impromptu drinks at the bar, families share memorable brunches, and life’s biggest milestones are celebrated in style.

"Nobody can out-showbiz Warner in a restaurant, and probably nobody would want to, but in defining the edges so authoritatively, everybody took notice."

–Danny Meyer from the New York Times

With a New York-inspired menu crafted for contemporary tastes, a lively bar scene, and dedicated spaces for private events, Maxwell’s Plum has become a cornerstone of the Wellington community. Whether you’re stopping by for our signature dishes, exploring our curated wine and cocktail lists, or planning a special event, we invite you to experience the vibrant charm and hospitality that define Maxwell’s Plum today.
